Mikal Zulfiqar's drama 'Je Aap Ki Marzi': 'Many women told me that their husbands were like Sherry too'

The year 2023 has been quite an interesting year for Pakistani drama viewers in terms of content and that is why different dramas are trending every week. Among them is a drama 'Je Aap Ki Marzi', written by popular actress and playwright Naila Jafri, who recently died of cancer, and directed by actress Saba Hameed.

The cast of this drama of 'Six Sigma Plus' includes Durifshan Saleem, Javed Sheikh, Karan Malik, Ali Safina, Ali Tahir, Hira Umar and Huma Hameed along with Mikal Zulfikar.

In this play, Aliza, a well-educated and intelligent girl, marries a wealthy and attractive businessman Sherry against her parents' will, and gradually realizes that her husband is a selfish, hot-tempered and changeable person. Is.

Actress Durfashan Saleem has played the role of Alize while actress Mikal Zulfiqar has played the role of Sherry.

Speaking to BBC Urdu, Mikal Zulfiqar agreed that it was one of his best performances.

"People are saying it's my best performance so far, I don't think I disagree with that."

"Many people in life are selfish"

Actor Mikal Zulfikar says that he liked the script of the drama serial 'Je Aap Ki Marzi' and saw a lot of scope to act and look prominent in his character Sherry.

"Usually in our dramas the female characters drive the story forward in which the female character is stronger, but it was not so in this case."

I wanted to know what she did to prepare for the role of Sherry. Did he get any such role in real life? To which he lied, 'Yes, many. Many people are selfish in life.

Mikal Zulfikar says that he tried to keep Sherry's character close to reality so that she does not seem forced scenes out of necessity and he thinks that is why she is getting praise.

I tried not to make the scenes look forced and even if he is fighting, he is fighting in a fluid manner, the dialogue he is giving is fluid. I could have stuttered, paused and delivered my speech and dialogue, but I wanted to keep it flowing.

'Merib doesn't fall off the bed, Natasha hits him'

In the drama serial 'Jisi Aap Ki Marzi', the siblings Natasha and Sherry don't seem to have any special back story as to why they are so selfish and mean, but these two roles are well played by Mikal Zulfiqar and Karan Malik.

Mikal says that 'actually the drama was about the two siblings, it is also about Sherry and Alizeh but the real situation is created by the siblings. That's why my first question was who is the sister.

He said that Karan Malik is his friend and they have worked together before and whenever they met on the set or outside the set, they used to talk like Sherry and Natasha.

"Me and Kiran off screen were also Sherry and Natasha, if Durfashan was sitting or someone else was sitting then we would start the games at the same time and then the same thing would continue on screen."

A very interesting scene in the play was when Natasha's husband Merib (played by Ali Safina) is putting lotion on her feet, and Merib falls off the bed in a panic as Sherry and Alizeh enter the room. When I asked a question on the shoot of this scene, Mikal laughingly corrected me that 'he doesn't fall off the bed but she (Natasha) slaps him to get off.'

He praised the acting of his co-star Durfishan Saleem and said that we look good together on screen which is a great thing.
